So after a period of time without really doing much in the mountains, the itch was back..
I took a brief trip to the Lake District in aug 2024 and summited Whin Rigg and Illgill Rigg, the mountains that shadow the Wastwater. Campervan life and a busy social life, drinking IPA with Amanda, kept me off the tops, but I was back, even if it was a brief trip to reset my love of the mountains.
The campsite was a pop-up type that Farmers do to make a bit of cash. It had water and a porta-potty, but that’s all we needed. The site sat at the top of Wast Water and close to Whin Rigg.
The visibility on the tops was good, and I still could navigate, which is a bonus. More importantly, I was back in the game. Now, I need to plan some hikes in the coming months and next year.

Scoff when Campervanning is another level..
As the route to the mountain was on our doorstep, there were few challenges with navigation, but the incline was sheer, up is the new down!
